Details

CANA constructed the MacEwan Student Centre in 1987. This building was built to provide additional space for the many student services and amenities necessary to enhance the University.

This three-storey above-grade (one storey below grade) building included a new café/bar, bookstore, food court, offices, council chambers, and additional retail space. A large atrium with open balconies provides plenty of natural lighting and open space to the structure. Integration with the existing MacEwan Hall and Physical Education Expansion had to be completed with minimal disruption to students and faculty. In all, over 120,000 ft² of additional space was provided to students.
