CANA Renew
2021
Lump Sum
Renovation
CANA renovated the washrooms on three floors at the University of Calgary’s Craigie Hall E in 2021. The building was built 50 years ago and was in its original condition. CANA had to perform asbestos remediation and extensive site investigation prior to commencing construction.
The renovation involved upgrades to make the washrooms accessible and to code. Some of the washrooms became washrooms for all people, and the male washrooms had baby change tables added.
The design and construction of the washrooms needed to conform to the existing block walls. We had to build around the existing solid foundation and quickly discovered that some of the walls weren’t at 90 degree angles. This caused challenges with installing the lighting. Despite the challenges, CANA was able to complete the project to the satisfaction of the University of Calgary.
We are best known for our unique and one-of-a-kind projects, but these projects are just some of many institutional, commercial, industrial, residential and infrastructure work that we complete.
