TELUS Spark Solar Carport

In 2021, CANA was engaged by the City of Calgary to construct a solar carport in the parking lot of the TELUS Spark Science Centre. This was a great opportunity for us to return to one of our original builds (the Science Centre) and enhance the sustainability elements of the facility.

Estimated at approximately 1.2 mega-Watts (direct current), the carport leverages the best available technology for solar power generation, including high-efficiency bi-facial panels and racking specifically designed for northern, icy climates. The carport also supplies the Science Centre with around 60% of their annual electricity needs and includes the integration of four new electric-vehicle charging stations.
