Details

As part of the expansion and construction of the new TELUS Convention Centre, CANA constructed the new Centre Street LRT Platform on the north side of the building. Some features of this station include a glass roofing system that provides riders with protection from rain and snow and a raised platform to enable easy access and egress for passengers. This new station provided a modern, updated look to accompany the new Convention Centre.

CANA ensured that LRT operations were not affected during the construction. If necessary, work was scheduled at night and off hours to accommodate City of Calgary Transit. Another design issue was that parkade air ventilation vented onto the platform area. Modifying the platform to better disperse the air rectified this problem.
