Details

The largest City-owned park in Calgary's Northeast.

Prairie Winds Park is a community hub for Castleridge in northeast Calgary and is the largest City of Calgary park in the quadrant. The park hosts hundreds of public gatherings, concerts, and sporting events each year. CANA provided a phasing strategy which allowed the park to continuing hosting events during the renovations.

Phase 1 of the project involved selective demolition, the completion of the sports surfaces and site development in the first year of construction. The second phase in season two involved the pool areas and pathways. Our scope included construction of tennis and basketball courts, a wading pool, lazy river, pool house, seating/structures and landscaping.

Although the project was delivered under a Lump Sum agreement, CANA also provided feedback prior to construction including cost savings options. It was completed on schedule for the 2017 spring season.
