HomeSpace Society's "Legacy on 5th"

HomesSpace Society is a charitable real estate developer, property owner, and manageer with close to 500 units of housing in over 20 communities in Calgary. HomeSpace's newest project, located at 933 5th Avenue SW, includes 74 units of rental apartments for low-income single adults, including 16 barrier-free units. The urban residential tower is nine-storeys over 59,000 ft2 and features a single level of commercial retail space at-grade.

The project meets minimum accessibility universal design and adaptability criteria, as per the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). The building also features sustainable initiatives, including enhanced envelope performance in excess of the National Energy Code of Canada standards and roof mounted solar panels.

CANA also developed a building model for the structural and mechanical systems, and supplied a clash detection report to HomeSpace and the design team.
