Project
Details

CANA has been actively involved with renovations and new construction at the Foothills hospital complex since 1981 with the construction of the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic.

The SSB Unit 36 Interior Renovation project involved construction of a new 36-bed patient facility complete with support space and meeting rooms. Several issues had to be considered, the primary one being the need to keep disruptions to a minimum, a proven area of excellence for CANA.

As a specialty item, construction of “headwalls” were required at each patient location. These headwalls serve as a “docking station” for the patient beds and contain all the mechanical and electrical services required for patient care including medical gas outlets, computer equipment, nurse call buttons, and electrical outlets.

The centralized nursing station serves as the hub of the unit and is constructed to accommodate the flow of staff traffic patterns and the need for storage space for patient information.
