Details

Located in Toronto, the DuMaurier Theatre serves as one of Toronto’s leading theatrical outlets. Overlooking Lake Ontario, this 750-seat complex was acoustically optimized to provide the best possible sound quality. The building also features a 150-seat rehearsal area and a complete set shop.

The scope of work involved converting and renovating an existing theatre/warehouse facility to accommodate the new theatre. The facility was originally used to house ice, and as a result, a heavy layer of cork insulation was removed before construction began. Exterior renovations provided better access to the building and better sound attenuation in the theatre. Movable sound attenuation panels were installed to provide flexibility in the amount of reverberation within the theatre to accommodate a variety of performances.
