Celebration Square Urban Park

Celebration Square (C-Square) is an urban park and public realm in Calgary’s East Village. Located adjacent to the LRT, C-Square acts as a connecting link between the streetscape along Riverfront Lane to the park. It connects the residential and commercial developments in East Village. C-Square has provided a revitalized community development, bringing together people to celebrate culture, music and community.

The park features paved walking paths along the LRT line, as well as a custom lighting installation, seating, trees, planters, shrubs and grassed areas. Distinct features include a variety of custom installations – The Veil lighting fins and Balau wood decking used for seating and an event stage.

The Veil fins have lighting controls that are activated by the passing LRT and can be coordinated to music and functions in the park.

CANA supported the client by providing value engineering, coordinating design build trades for the specialty custom components and executing preconstruction services and construction.
