The Story Behind the Jack Simpson Gymnasium

Thanks to Scott Cruickshank for the great article detailing the story behind the Jack Simpson Gymnasium at the University of Calgary.

Jack joined Burns and Dutton Construction Co. Ltd. in 1949 as Chief Engineer and later bought the company outright and changed the name to CANA. Jack's son John took over the reigns after his father's passing in the 1980's and then John's son Luke Simpson took over in 2019.

CANA's ties to the university go back to the 1960's, when we constructed the first two buildings on the campus.
