Ford Tower

Ford Tower was constructed by CANA in 1976 to meet the growing office space in downtown Calgary. The tower is 20 stories tall and contains approximately 150,000 ft² of space.

One unique aspect of this tower was the location of the mechanical room. It was placed between the 12th and 13th floors to take advantage of gravity and pumping considerations. This design improved the building’s climate control systems, making it more energy efficient.

The building structure consists of a pre-cast exterior. CANA also completed all the cast-in-place concrete, including the footings and structural frame. The main level also features a large lobby with a café and restaurant space.
