AltaLink Data and Control System Renovation

The interior renovations of the existing AltaLink office building included renovating office space, constructing a power distribution control centre, a data centre, and installing site fencing and an upgraded emergency electrical system. These renovations allowed AltaLink to monitor and control the power grid for most of southern Alberta from this location.

The upgraded emergency electrical system consisted of a new 250kW generator and a redundant UPS system. This system is strictly to run the data and control centre for their power monitoring equipment.

The data centre has an area of 1150 ft² and is cooled by two downflow 12 twelve-ton Liebert air conditioning units. A sapphire fire suppression system protects the area from fire.
